Money Dashboard

Closing the account does not close the file. Money-laundering and tax rules keep your identity and transaction records for years, and a permission to share your data wherever the law allows covers much of the rest. The holds set by statute are the ones no request can move.

Closed its budgeting apps; it had made money from research on users' spending

2023-10-03

Affected Money Dashboard Neon and Classic apps; Money Insights

Money Dashboard, an Edinburgh budgeting app bought by the ClearScore Group in May 2022, said in October 2023 that it would close its Neon and Classic apps on 31 October 2023 because it "could not find a sustainable business model". Its FAQ said it made money from "insight and market research services" using "anonymised spending information from Money Dashboard users". In 2021 its Money Insights service said it "works with Asset Managers, Retailers, Consultants and Government". After the closure it said it would delete or fully anonymise users' data, keeping some records for up to five years. The company now trades as D·One, an open banking service for lenders.
