Between June and August 2026 we read 329 privacy policies across 30 industries, in their current public versions, and recorded what they state. These are the counts. Each finding links to the fine print page where the pattern is read in full.

  • 104 of 133 policies across 15 industries give no number for how long they keep your data. The stated default is "as long as necessary." The patterns in full →
  • 8 of 9 transportation policies grant account deletion subject to open-ended exceptions: safety, security, fraud prevention, fee collection, disputes, insurance, legal obligations. Transportation →
  • 7 of 9 crypto policies keep the identity dossier after the account closes. Where a number is stated, five years is the floor. Crypto →

  • 5 of 10 policies never state whether AI analyses the recording. At least 3 of the silent ones advertise AI scoring on their sales pages. Video interviews →
  • 8 weeks to 2 years is the stated retention range for interview recordings, hired or not. One policy states retention has no limit.
  • 8 of 10 platforms hold your recording to the employer's instructions. A deletion request is decided by whoever was hiring.
